Job summary

GPC Genuine Parts Company, via the NAPA Private Fleet, is seeking a CDL A local driver to operate tractor-trailers for shipments between company facilities and customer sites, ensuring safe and timely delivery.

This role features home daily, no touch freight, and drop-and-hook routes with paid safety training and a performance-based safety bonus. You will perform inspections, log hours, and comply with federal/state regulations while loading/unloading and communicating with Dispatch.

Qualifications

• Minimum 23 years of age and a valid Class A CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement.
• At least 2 years of CDL driving experience and a clean MVR.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate tablets/computers/e-logs.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver freight regionally or long distances safely and legally.
• Perform routine inspections and report defects or repairs to management.
• Log work/rest periods using the ELD and maintain required records.
• Load and unload cargo and securely fasten loads.
• Communicate with Dispatch about movements, equipment issues, and delays.
• Complete paperwork and comply with company policies.

CDL A Local Driver Job Description Summary The primary function of the NAPA Private Fleet, CDL A Local Driver is to operate various tractor-trailer combinations for extended periods of time, between company/customer facilities, terminals, yards, or work sites in order to pick up, transport and deliver freight in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities Transport and deliver freight regionally for short or long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner. Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and document and refer defects/repairs to manager and maintenance representative. Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Accurately document and log work/rest periods in company assigned ELD (Electronic Logging Device) Safely load and unload all equipment/materials when needed over and properly secure all loads. Understands and carries out instructions given orally and in writing, including those on manifests, bills of lading and other shipping documents to determine the location and time of delivery. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) Complete all necessary paperwork including shipping and billing documents and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations. Frequently communicates with Dispatch/Operations, in person or by tablet or telephone, in order to advise of movements, problems with equipment, cargo, delays, etc. Represent the Company in a professional manner. Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum of 23 years of age Must have and maintain a current valid commercial driver’s license. License must be a Class A with HAZ-MAT endorsement. At least 2 years of CDL experience preferred. Required 2 Years Clean MVR Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs. Ability to operate electronics i.e., tablets, computer & e-logs, etc.

This position offers a starting mileage pay range of $0.58 - $0.60. The average miles for this position are 2,500 - 2,700. For other positions, the starting rate will be determined based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
