Job summary

Estuary Transit District, also operating as River Valley Transit, is seeking a Full-time Bus Operator in Connecticut. You will operate various vehicles, ensuring safe and orderly transportation for passengers to their destinations and completing daily vehicle tasks.

The role requires a CT Class B CDL with passenger endorsements, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least five years of driving experience with a clean record. You must pass a DOT physical and work with the public and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid CT driver's license with endorsements including Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and F endorsement for full-time Bus Operators.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years driving experience with a clean driving record in the past two years.
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs and operate a vehicle.
• DOT physical clearance required by ETD.
• Ability to learn and apply district policies and work independently.
• Ability tomaintain good relationships with coworkers and the public.

Responsibilities

• Operate Estuary Transit District buses and ensure safe, orderly transport of passengers.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, fueling, interior and exterior cleaning, and maintain trip records.
• Assist passengers as required and handle fares and radio communications.
• Follow ETD policies and report to the Operations Manager.
