Job summary

Estuary Transit District (ETD), operating as River Valley Transit, is seeking full-time Bus Operators to transport passengers in Middlesex County. You will perform daily inspections, fuel, clean, record trips, handle fares, and communicate by radio to ensure safe, reliable service.

Requirements include a Connecticut Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and F endorsement, five years of driving experience with a clean record, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift 60 lbs.

Qualifications

• CT driver’s license and CDL with passenger endorsement.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of driving experience with a clean two-year record.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform vehicle operations.
• Ability to follow ETD policies and work independently when needed.
• Ability to work well with coworkers and the public and exercise good judgment.
• DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Estuary Transit District vehicles and transport passengers safely.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and fueling.
• Maintain trip records and handle fares and communications.
• Assist passengers as needed and ensure passenger safety.
