Job summary

The Cherry Creek School District is offering a Bus Driver Trainee position in Colorado. Successful completion of the district’s training program and obtaining a CDL Class B with P and S endorsements within one month of hire are required.

The role is temporary hourly, with duties supporting a bus driver team and student safety. Responsibilities include assisting with student loading, behavior management, and routine bus maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• Colorado driver’s license
• CDL Class B with 'P' and 'S' endorsements within 1 month of hire
• CPR and First Aid certification within 1 month of hire
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• DOT physical within 1 week of hire
• Clean Colorado DMV record in past 3 years
• No DUI/DWAI in past 3 years

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in district Bus Driver training program (Daily 20%).
• Assist driver in maintaining student behavior and report incidents (Daily 20%).
• Aid in loading/unloading students, including those with special needs (Daily 10%).
• Communicate with driver to develop a team environment (Daily 10%).
• Maintain information via route sheets/reports for students (Daily 10%).
• Ensure students are properly loaded and seated (Daily 10%).
• Assist with special needs equipment, bus interior cleaning, and sanitation (Daily 10%).
• Practice emergency evacuation drills with students and driver (Weekly 5%).
• Perform other duties as assigned (Daily 5%).
