Job summary

Republic Services in Pleasant Valley Township, Iowa seeks a Driver- CDL (B) to safely operate a collection truck and deliver courteous waste removal services on designated routes. You will perform complete pre/post inspections, read route sheets, load waste, and maintain required reports while adhering to safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and service each customer as identified on route sheet or as assigned by dispatcher.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of material at designated facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced promptly and professionally.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers as per procedures.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste and maintain safety standards.
• Ensure vehicle is operationally ready and clean waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
• Complete route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports; maintain productivity standards.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and participate in ReSOP program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
