The position expects demonstrated operation experience and basic mechanical knowledge, with a preference for prior railroad construction or maintenance exposure. Safety, PPE, and DOT compliance are essential to daily duties.

Qualifications

• CDL-B license required and prior CDL-B operation experience.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple failures.
• Previous railroad construction or maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate specialized equipment (e.g., backhoe, crew truck, excavator) to support track inspection, installation and maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment.
• Maintain equipment appearance and cleanliness.
• Communicate with supervisor throughout the job process.
• Ensure safe working conditions and proper PPE as required.
• Follow DOT regulations and driving regulations.
