Job summary

The US Department of Veterans Affairs at Butler Health Care is seeking a Motor Vehicle Operator to transport patients and staff to VA facilities, homes, and other sites. A valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsement is required; Basic Life Support training will be provided/required.

Work includes driving on varied routes, loading/unloading patients, and complying with safety procedures. Shift work and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• A current and valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement is required.
• Must pass VA Physical exam and adhere to VA/DOT drug and alcohol guidelines.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training is required or will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive patient transport vehicles, including emergency vehicles and vans/buses, on scheduled routes or special runs.
• Assist patients with loading and unloading, secure patients and equipment with proper devices, and ensure safety throughout transport.
