Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Motor Vehicle Operator to transport patients and equipment between VA Medical Center facilities and other sites.

Qualifications

• Experience or training demonstrating safe operation of patient transport vehicles.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and road/traffic conditions for safe routing.
• Ability to comply with safety procedures and to document actions and incidents.
• Must meet the VA and DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate patient transport vehicles including emergency and non-emergency transports.
• Carry up to 8 or more passengers to VA facilities and other sites.
• Receive work assignments and execute on schedules and routes.
• Ensure passenger safety and use of seat belts.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
