Responsibilities

• Safely transport and deliver explosive supplies (hazardous materials) to job sites using Class B vehicles, occasionally using Class C vehicles.
• Maintain accurate load manifests and other vehicle documents, ensuring proper completion and balance with truck counts and shipping documents.
• Receive products at magazine sites and store them properly in inventory.
• Load products from magazine to distribution vehicles.
• Unload products at job sites to the ground crew.
• Secure all loads and materials properly.
• Follow all DOT safety rules, including accurate log-book entries and safety checks.
• Comply with all traffic laws and regulations.
• Keep vehicles clean and perform scheduled maintenance.
• Communicate work status effectively with supervisors/dispatchers and cooperate to maximize truck utilization.
• Represent the company professionally and positively.
• Report vehicle incidents, accidents, and traffic violations promptly.
• Submit to Federal DOT required testing.
• Be flexible to start the day at varying times, with prior notice by 5 pm.
• Work independently, meet deadlines under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Participate in field operations meetings and training as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Class B CDL license with HazMat and Tanker Endorsements, ability to obtain DOT medical card, and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Successful class B commercial driving experience (trainees considered if holding appropriate license and acceptable MVR).
• Ability to pass ATF screenings.
• Understanding of Federal DOT/State regulations related to hazardous material transportation and interstate commerce.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential functions of the role.
• Lift 50-80 lbs.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work on uneven and loose surfaces.
• Stooping and bending 30-40% of the time.
• Occasional out-of-town and overtime work may be required.
