Job summary

DFA is seeking a Class A Yard/Plant Driver to join our team in Vermont. The role involves moving and parking trucks and trailers, connecting tractors to trailers, and maintaining yard organization in a fast-paced shipping environment.

Responsibilities include performing pre/post-trip inspections, logging movements, and adhering to DOT and GMP policies. High school diploma and valid CDL A with tanker endorsement if needed are required, with forklift duties as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class A license required.
• DOT regulations knowledge.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures.
• Experience with trailer movement preferred.
• Forklift operation where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck/tractor to move and park trucks and trailers to facilitate shipping/receiving.
• Hook, unhook, move trucks to/from service and dock areas.
• Position loaded/unloaded trailers at dock spaces for loading/unloading.
• Connect loaded semitrailers to tractors for drivers.
• Maintain accurate trailer/inventory movement logs.
• Load/unload trailers via forklift or pallet jack.
• Receive inventory.
• Follow safety, DOT and GMP policies and report incidents.
• Attend driver workshops and training sessions.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and keep area sanitary.
