Job summary

DSV is seeking a Yard Driver in Edwardsville, IL to join our solutions division. You will operate Class A tractors, perform loading/unloading, and maintain the storage yard to support efficient service.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, at least 2 years of tractor-trailer experience in the past 4 years, a clean driving record, and a current DOT medical certificate. You must pass onboarding road and backing tests and coordinate with warehouse staff daily.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of verified tractor-trailer experience within the past 4 years.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must meet DOT physical requirements and maintain valid medical certificate.
Must pass road and backing test during onboarding.

Responsibilities

Maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the customer needs.
Account for records involving trailer numbers and position of vehicles.
Interact daily with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements.
Communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions following signals from loading crew; place safety wheel chocks as needed.
Proper use of Airline/Electrical hookup and Backing procedures.
Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment daily.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard.
