Job summary
Knight Transportation, Inc. is seeking CDL-A drivers to become training mentors for new CDL-A drivers. You will pass the torch and help develop the next generation while being financially rewarded for your time.
Top performers can earn substantial annual earnings, with weekly pay and mileage-based compensation, plus a training bonus structure and benefits for employees and family. This role combines coaching with hands-on instruction on the road.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 and hold a valid Class A license.
- 6 months of Class A experience within the last year or 1 year of Class A experience within the last 5 years.
- No more than 1 preventable accident in the past 2 years; no major accident within 5 years.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug tests.
- Additional Trainer Qualifications: minimum of 30 days with Knight; at least 60,000 miles solo & 1 winter season driving OTR.
Responsibilities
- Train and mentor new CDL-A drivers to become independent team members.
- Share knowledge of miles, mileage pay, bonuses, and safety expectations with trainees.
- Monitor trainee progress and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
