Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking an experienced CDL-A Truck Driver to join our team in Sterling, VA. The role involves delivering food and related products to customers on intrastate and interstate routes, with a focus on safety, timeliness and customer service.

You will operate tractor/trailer and ensure proper loading, unloading and documentation. Ideal candidates hold a CDL-A, have at least 6 months driving experience, and can pass a DOT-compliant drug test and background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A license.
• Must be 21+ years of age and meet state licensing requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years; pass post-offer drug test and background check; pass road test.
• DOT Health Card current or able to secure one.

Responsibilities

• Communicates professionally with customers, vendors and co-workers.
• Performs safety checks for tractor/trailer per DOT regulations.
• Inspects tractor, trailer and freight for proper loading and safety.
• Delivers orders according to predefined route schedule and obtains customer signatures.
• Unloads products at customer sites and secures loads for return as needed.
• completes daily hours-of-service logs per DOT and company requirements.
