Job summary

Noble Casing Inc. in Williston, ND is looking for a CDL driver to transport materials to and from job sites, load/unload, and keep accurate truck logs. You will inspect and maintain equipment, coordinate with the dispatcher, and ensure safety rules are followed. The role requires the ability to read instructions and operate an ERP system.

Candidate must hold a CDL license with a clean driving record and be prepared for long shifts, variable schedules, and extreme weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Basic math and ability to work with money, weights, and measurements.
  • Ability to use ERP system for basic data entry and records.
  • CDL license and clean driving record with no recent violations.
  • Willingness to work long hours and adapt to weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Dispatcher/Supervisor and follows assignments and directions.
  • Reads and interprets instructions and plans work activities.
  • Prepares receipts and paperwork for loads picked up.
  • Collects signatures for goods delivered and delivery charges.
  • Maintains truck log according to regulations.
  • Maintains radio/phone contact with supervisor for instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck.
  • Inspects truck equipment (tires, lights, brakes, etc.).
  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires and bulbs.
  • Secures cargo with blocks and ropes during transit.
  • Operates company vehicles up to 105,500 pounds to move materials.
  • Observes safety rules and wears required PPE.
  • Flexible schedule, long workdays, on-call shifts, and exposure to weather.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from Dispatcher/Supervisor
  • Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities
  • Prepares receipts/paperwork for load picked up.
  • Collects appropriate paperwork and/or signatures for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
  • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
  • Operates company vehicles with capacity of up to 105,500 pounds to move materials, tools, and equipment to & from work locations in support of construction and maintenance activities and/or deliver operating materials and supplies from one location to another.
  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment, and assists during the operation of equipment at job site.
  • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, long workdays, and/or irregular work hours, be on-call with short notice and exposed to extreme weather conditions.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills required to use internal ERP System

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CDL License and satisfactory driving record with no driving violations including DWI/DUI convictions currently or in the past three years.
