Job summary

Fastenal in Manassas, VA is hiring a Full-Time Driver (DOT - CDL) Class A to deliver from distribution centers to branches and customer sites. You will operate a late-model tractor trailer or straight truck and unload at stops along your route, typically 10-12 stops per run.

This role requires a valid Class A CDL, a current Health Card, HazMat endorsement if applicable, and compliance with DOT hours-of-service.

OVERVIEW:

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals be on our transportation team! Working as a Full-Time Driver (DOT - CDL) - Class A, you will be representing our fleet as you deliver from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer on-site locations. You will operate a safe, well-maintained and late model tractor trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded, in order of delivery, by warehouse employees prior to departure and you will be responsible for unloading the freight at each stop along your route; most routes average 10-12 stops. We offer established routes that may see periodic change based off needs of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Utilizing a handheld scanner
• Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift
• Providing excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
• Interacting with our shipping and receiving departments
• Maintaining a clean work environment within our equipment
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment
• Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
• Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
• Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
• Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150lbs.
• Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check
• Pass a background check, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience operating a forklift
