Qualifications

Responsibilities:

Our Lansing, MI branch seeks a full-time CDL-A truck driver. This is a first shift, M-F position, paid hourly with occasional overtime, and you will be home each night. Responsibilities include:

• Timely equipment delivery and basic truck maintenance
• Maintain electronic trip logs and timecards
• Use company phone for timekeeping
• Complete paperwork accurately
• Provide excellent customer service
• Work independently and manage workload
• Properly complete and submit all required documentation
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of CDL-A driving experience preferred
• Heavy Haul experience is a plus
• Clean CDL Class A license
• Trailer/hydraulic ramp experience
• Knowledge of securing equipment with chains
• Ability to operate forklifts and trailers
• Manual transmission experience required
• Familiarity with HYPASS, Hyster TKC, and contact management software
• Language skills: Intermediate reading and interpretation of safety and operation manuals
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Intermediate reasoning skills for problem-solving and understanding instructions

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Move and secure loads with chains
• Climb into trucks and trailers
• Stand, walk, use hands, reach; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
• Lift up to 100+ pounds occasionally
• Work near moving parts, in outdoor weather, and in various environmental conditions
