The Macomb Group is seeking a full-time Class A Driver for local deliveries at our Charlotte, North Carolina location. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A CDL license and at least 3 years of driving experience.

Job Title

Class A Driver

Summary

The Macomb Group, a recognized leading distributor in the Midwest for Pipe, Valve, and Fittings. We are looking for a full‑time Class A driver at our Charlotte, North Carolina location.

Responsibilities

• Local deliveries
• Transport materials to and from specified destinations
• Prepares receipts for load pickup
• Maintenance of truck logs and proof of delivery
• Loading and unloading truck materials when needed
• Perform proper Pre/Post trip inspections.
• Inspect trucks to ensure working conditions of brakes, lights, wipers, windshield, fire extinguisher, triangles, and other safety equipment in the truck.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, rules, and safety requirements
• Basic small maintenance of truck
• Ensure that cargo is well secured
• Maintain record of goods and freight loaded and unloaded
• Report any equipment in the truck in need of repair, inoperable or missing
• Inspect freight and vehicle for compliance with regulations
• Maintain a log of activities, condition of the vehicle and any cases of accidents
• Property use electronic logs daily
• Possible warehouse duties after runs are completed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Must have a valid Class A CDL license. 3+ years prior driving experience for a commercial company
• DOT Certification
• Able to drive manual
• Experience in securing loads and operating flatbed trucks and trailers
• Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor maintenance and repairs
• Knowledge of State and Federal transport regulations
• Presents self in professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
• Be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, kneel, or crawl occasionally
• Be able to frequently lift or move up to 25lbs
• Be able to strap and load materials onto truck bed
• Knowledge of PVF is a plus

Work Setting

Charlotte, North Carolina

Monday - Friday, day shift

OT on some Saturdays, 8 AM - 12 PM

No nights, holidays, or Sundays
