Job summary

McLane in Minnesota is seeking a CDL-A Driver Trainee to join our driver training program. You will train with experienced Driver Trainers, learning every aspect of the role to prepare for a full Driver position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Communicate with customers, management, and other teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor‑trailer, use a 2‑wheeled dolly, ramp, and on board PeopleNet devices.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑on training to prepare for a full Driver position.
• Learn from experienced McLane Driver Trainers across all duties of the role.
• Attach trailer, secure lines, and operate tractor‑trailer safely.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customer premises.
• Provide customer service including on‑time delivery and handling returns.
