Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is hiring Class A Tractor Trailer Truck Drivers for our Shelton, CT facility. CDL-A drivers will haul municipal and commercial waste between local transfer stations and rail yards, with home nightly and a typical 55–60 hour week. The union position offers competitive pay and full benefits.

Start times around 5am; overtime after 40 hours; 21+ eligibility and a clean record required. Benefits include medical, retirement, life insurance, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of CDL-A vehicle experience within the last 7 years.
• Ability to read maps and understand DOT/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Work full-time year-round; home nightly with local routes.
• Maintain vehicle safety checks, communicate with dispatch, and report issues promptly.
• Provide professional customer service and adhere to schedule and quality expectations.
