Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Shuttle Driver in Michigan to transport empty trailers to the warehouse and turn around to deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. The driver will operate a tandem tractor/trailer or straight truck on intrastate routes, upholding DOT safety standards and maintaining professional communication with customers and coworkers.

As a key member of the team, you will ensure on-time deliveries, safety compliance, and proper handling of freight, while

Qualifications

• 12 months commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements (where applicable).
• Work 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass DOT Health Card current or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to lift and move freight up to 60–90 pounds with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; reports hazards.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured.
• Completes daily hours-of-service log as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
