American Driver LLC operates a dry-van fleet focused on the East Coast. Drivers stay mostly on the eastern seaboard and return home every two weeks. New CDL graduates are paid to train, while experienced drivers start solo after orientation.
Expect about 2,000 miles per week with pay options including a weekly average of $1,000–$1,200, mileage pay of $0.55–$0.65 per mile, and a $15 per extra stop. Orientation is quick, and there are benefits after 30 days.
This dry van fleet works the East and nothing else. Loads run up and down the eastern seaboard and seldom go far west, so you learn one part of the country well and you are home every two weeks. Drivers from Chester, Marcus Hook, Upland and the rest of Delaware County are hired here. If you just finished CDL school, you are paid to train. If you already drive, you start solo.
You train on the road for 3 to 5 weeks (200 to 250 hours) with a mentor and earn $650 every week. You need a completed truck driving school of at least 120 hours. Your mentor signs you off before you drive alone, so you are not pushed out early.
Six months or more of recent experience puts you straight into your own truck after orientation. Your mileage rate reflects the experience you can verify.
Dry van, a mix of drop and hook, preloaded trailers, live loads and live unloads. Lanes stay in the East and do not cross far west of the Mississippi.
Orientation is two days or less and pays $300 once you are hired. If you take the bus, the one-way ticket is reimbursed with a receipt.
