East Harris County drivers: regional runs that often bring you back through the house.
You stay in the South-Central region, not all 48 states, and your planner routes you through home often. New CDL grads are hired and trained.
What you earn
- $850 a week during training
- $1,000 a week guaranteed for your first 3 months solo
- $1,100 to $1,300 a week once solo
- 1,700 to 2,000 miles a week
- $15 stop pay
- Weekly direct deposit
Your week
Regional lanes out of Houston: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and nearby states. Drop and hook, live loads and preloads. Home every two weeks, often through the house in between.
New CDL? Here is the path
- Call: we check your license and record with you first. No surprises later.
- Orientation: up to 2 days, hotel covered, bus fare reimbursed, $300 once hired.
- Training: 4 to 6 weeks one-on-one with a mentor, paid $850 a week.
- Solo: your own assigned truck, fleet average about 1.5 years old. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.
Nervous about your first driving job? Fair.
- \"How often will I see home?\" Every two weeks, and runs often bring you through the house.
- \"Does my CDL school count?\" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
- \"I am not good at backing yet.\" Nobody is on day one. You practice for weeks with a mentor beside you before you drive alone.
- \"Will one ticket disqualify me?\" Not by itself. Up to 2 moving violations in the past 2 years is accepted.
- \"What if my first solo weeks are slow?\" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months solo.
To qualify
You must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL. New drivers need at least 120 hours from a CDL school; otherwise, 6 months of recent experience. We accept up to 2 moving violations in the last 2 years and no DUI/DWI in the last 10. You will also pass a DOT physical and a hair and urine drug test.
Once you pass 30 days
- Full medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, a 401(k), an employee stock purchase plan, paid vacation, yearly raises, and a free online degree for you and one family member.
- Pets and riders are allowed; trainees can bring a dog once training is finished.
