Job summary

Ogden City Government is seeking a Refuse Operator - Operations to drive and operate refuse collection vehicles for city routes, including recycling pickups. The role includes basic truck maintenance, safety duties, and responding to public inquiries with a focus on efficient routes and reliability.

The position requires two years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and a Utah CDL Class A within 150 days. Overtime, recall for snow/ice operations, and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Two years of general maintenance experience in the area; some experience with automated refuse collection preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Any combination of experience and education that provides required knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate refuse collection vehicles citywide and collect refuse and recycling.
• Operate loaders, screeners, skid steers, log splitters, chainsaws and related equipment as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and lubricate moving parts.
• Complete maintenance and route reports and be available for overtime when required.
• Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner and provide information as needed.
