Job summary

Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District is seeking a Residential Garbage Truck Driver (Equipment Operator) to join our Utah team. This full-time role with benefits requires CDL Class B and involves operating state-of-the-art trucks to service Salt Lake County, collecting refuse and recycling along a daily route.

You must have one year of equipment driving experience, at least six months in a CDL role, and a valid DOT Medical Card.

You must have one year of equipment driving experience with at least six (6) months of verifiable driving experience in a position which requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with valid DOT Medical Card at the time of hire.

As a driver, you'll operate state of the art trucks and be part of a team that provides top notch waste and recycling collection services across Salt Lake County. This a job where every day brings new challenges and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the environment and community.

You will follow a daily assigned route collecting refuse and/or recycling, and transporting the load to the landfill, transfer station, or recycling facility. As a CDL holder you are required keep your equipment clean and in proper working condition, perform pre- and post-shift inspections, keep loads within legal limits and follow all applicable laws and regulations.

This position requires a full range of motion in the shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, legs, and feet. A driver must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 100 pounds as necessary to ensure route is complete and free of debris, and exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. In this position you will sit for extended periods while exposed to traffic hazards, inclement weather, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and potentially unsanitary conditions; the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. You must be able to climb into and out of equipment on a regular basis.
