Job summary

Kent Companies is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair construction equipment including excavators, skid-steers, gypcrete pumps, and generators. A CDL A is required to transport equipment, and the role supports gypcrete operations on active job sites.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, keeping the fleet in service, and ensuring safety and compliance with DOT requirements. The ideal candidate works well in a team and can handle non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) is required.
• CDL A (airbrakes preferred) and valid driver's license are required.
• 2+ years of experience working on diesel equipment (construction equipment preferred).
• Familiar with commonly used equipment, tools, and materials.
• Ability to pass a background check related to driving and pass a DOT physical.
• Ability to lift 80 lbs and work non-typical hours based on construction schedules.

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately perform repairs and preventative maintenance on company vehicles/equipment.
• Diagnose problems and decide whether to repair in-house or outsource.
• Perform general mechanical repair and maintenance to keep the fleet in service.
• Maintain shop, tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Record time, parts, and supplies used in repairs and servicing.
• Perform DOT annual inspections on trucks and trailers.
