Job summary

Carter Machinery in Myersville, MD is seeking a Logistics Driver to safely transport products, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain equipment to high standards. You will load, secure cargo, and operate a forklift as needed while upholding DOT and company safety rules.

Starting compensation ranges from $28.53 to $41.32 per hour, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments at 90 and 180 days.

Qualifications

• Two years of CDL driving experience, including heavy-haul and tractor/lowboy.
• Valid CDL A license required.
• Excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Pickup and deliver products safely and promptly, securing cargo per regulations.
• Load and unload truck to match manifests.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections to ensure safety and equipment readiness.
• Conduct basic truck maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain vehicle interior/exterior for a professional appearance.
• Log daily hours in accordance with regulations.
• Demonstrate equipment operation to customers.
• Train drivers as needed.
• Operate a forklift when required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
