Job summary

This full-time role offers competitive hourly pay up to $32.64, overtime after 8 hours, comprehensive benefits, a 401K match, and 80 hours of PTO in the first year. Home daily and seasonal flexibility accompany a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• A valid Class C License is required, Class A CDL is preferred.
• Ability to obtain Hazmat, Tank and Double/Triples endorsements as required.
• Experience driving doubles and/or triples is preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year, verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment is preferred.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification Required.
• Have no record of DUI, Reckless Driving, positive Drug and/or Alcohol screen during the past 3 years.
• Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal) is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and move freight safely using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
• Note and record any exception in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
• Provide high levels of customer service with multiple deliveries within the Oak Harbor network.
• Maintain required information on electronic devices and complete paperwork (delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests).
• Meet the company reliability standard for dependability and adapt to inclement weather and varying shifts.
• Travel to nearby terminals as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating equipment and moving freight in a safe and efficient manner using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
• Responsible for noting and recording exception in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
• Responsible for multiple deliveries to customers while providing high levels of customer service within the Oak Harbor network.
• Maintain required information throughout the use of electronic devices.
• Management of paperwork: i.e., check of accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of landing, trailer manifests, counting freight, accuracy of hazardous material shipments, special loading, and handling instructions.
• Responsible decision-making skills to maximize efficiency while maintaining customer expectations.
• Ability to meet the Company's reliability standard for employees; to include dependability.
• Ability to chain as needed and work in inclement weather preferred.
• Availability to work various shifts as needed to accommodate business levels.
• Ability to travel to nearby terminals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Must be familiar with various technologies to perform basic functions of the job.
• The ability to communicate in a positive, effective manner with customers, co-workers, and dispatch/managers.
• Experience in an LTL operation preferred.
• Have a general familiarity with the delivery area and can utilize maps is required.
• Having a working knowledge of FMCSA Safety regulations and HOS requirements is required.
• Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal) is required.
