Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Grocery Driver to deliver dry groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers across the Northeast. You’ll enjoy daily home time with early-morning starts and solid stop-pay opportunities.

Deliveries use 45–53 ft trailers with about 2–3 stops per route, within 250 miles including NYC boroughs, Long Island, NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA and parts of upstate NY. Driver unload with pallet jack when needed; strong customer service required.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license is required.
• Minimum 3 months verifiable truck driving experience.
• Clean driving record and valid DOT Medical Card.
• No SAP drivers and ability to unload with pallet jack when needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dry groceries using 45- to 53-foot trailers.
• Handle multi-stop routes with about 2–3 stops per trailer.
• Deliver within 250 miles, including NYC boroughs, LI, NJ, and parts of the Northeast.
• Unload with electric pallet jack when required and perform delivery duties.
• Provide strong customer service and support local accounts.

CDL-A Local Grocery Driver - Good Pay | Home Daily

Earn approximately $90,000-$100,000 per year delivering dry grocery freight to supermarkets and distribution centers throughout the Northeast. Enjoy daily home time, consistent early-morning starts, and strong stop-pay opportunities.

Pay Details

$90,000-$100,000 per year

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,750-$1,950
• $85 daily rate when all 5 scheduled days are worked
• Calling off without notice forfeits the entire week's daily rate
• $17.25 per stop for shipper/receiver loading or unloading
• $30 per stop for driver unload or liftgate stops
• $47.50 per stop in NYC boroughs
• $15/hour for safety training
• $160-$450 for off-account work

Job Details

• Deliver dry groceries using 45-, 48-, 51-, and 53-foot trailers
• Multi-stop routes with approximately 2-3 stops per trailer
• Deliveries within 250 miles, including NYC boroughs, Long Island, NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA, and parts of upstate NY
• Drivers should expect to deliver in NYC boroughs regularly
• Pick up returns or backhauls at the final stop
• Driver unloads with an electric pallet jack when required
• Liftgates are available, including on NYC delivery trailers
• Support other local accounts as needed
• Strong customer service skills are required

Shift Details

• Sunday-Thursday
• Start time around 3:00 AM
• Drivers are home daily
• A sixth workday may be available for additional income
• Holiday work is required when scheduled and when the account is operating
• Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's time off is not guaranteed
