Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL‑A local grocery driver to deliver dry groceries on multi‑stop routes with daily home time. Start early morning shifts and be paid competitively, including stop pay and additional bonuses for off-account work. Expect NYC deliveries, slip‑seat operation, and newer equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum 3 months verifiable truck driving experience.
• Clean driving record is required.
• No SAP drivers.
• Ability to unload freight with an electric pallet jack.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dry groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers on multi‑stop routes.
• Operate 45‑ to 53‑foot trailers within a 250‑mile radius including NYC boroughs.
• Unload using an electric pallet jack when required; assist with loading as needed.
• Provide friendly, professional service to customers at delivery points.
• Take returns or backhauls at the final stop; support local accounts as needed.

CDL-A Local Grocery Driver – Good Pay | Home Daily

Earn approximately $90,000–$100,000 per year delivering dry grocery freight to supermarkets and distribution centers throughout the Northeast. Enjoy daily home time, consistent early-morning starts, and strong stop-pay opportunities.

Pay Details

$90,000–$100,000 per year

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,750–$1,950
• $85 daily rate when all 5 scheduled days are worked
• Calling off without notice forfeits the entire week’s daily rate
• $17.25 per stop for shipper/receiver loading or unloading
• $30 per stop for driver unload or liftgate stops
• $47.50 per stop in NYC boroughs
• $15/hour for safety training
• $160–$450 for off-account work

Job Details

• Deliver dry groceries using 45-, 48-, 51-, and 53-foot trailers
• Multi-stop routes with approximately 2–3 stops per trailer
• Deliveries within 250 miles, including NYC boroughs, Long Island, NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA, and parts of upstate NY
• Drivers should expect to deliver in NYC boroughs regularly
• Pick up returns or backhauls at the final stop
• Driver unloads with an electric pallet jack when required
• Liftgates are available, including on NYC delivery trailers
• Support other local accounts as needed
• Strong customer service skills are required

Shift Details

• Sunday–Thursday
• Start time around 3:00 AM
• Drivers are home daily
• A sixth workday may be available for additional income
• Holiday work is required when scheduled and when the account is operating
• Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s time off is not guaranteed
