Job summary

Salt City Trucking seeks a CDL-A Local Grocery Driver for a dedicated account with consistent work and daily home time. You will complete multi-stop grocery deliveries, typically 2 loads per day with 2-3 stops per trailer, mainly to Long Island and NYC boroughs (excluding Manhattan).

Expect to drive 48- or 53-foot dry vans, with 3–4 NYC area trips weekly and backhauls possibly to New Jersey. Shift Tue–Sat, ~12–14 hours, home daily, with some holidays off.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Minimum 6 months truck driving experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch.
• No SAP Drivers (policy reference).

Responsibilities

• Deliver groceries in 48- or 53-foot dry van trailers.
• Complete multi-stop deliveries, typically 2 loads per day with 2-3 stops per trailer.
• Deliver to Long Island and NYC boroughs (excluding Manhattan).
• Coordinate with dispatch regarding deliveries, salvage, or returns.
• May have backhauls to the distribution center or New Jersey loads.

Earn $80,000-$110,000 per year delivering grocery freight on a dedicated account with consistent work and daily home time. Drivers complete multi-stop deliveries throughout the region, including Long Island and most boroughs of New York City.

Pay Details

• Average Annual Pay: $80,000-$110,000
• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,550-$2,150
• Daily Rate: $60 when working all 5 scheduled days
• Sixth-Day Pay: $75
• Stop Pay: $20.50-$22.50, based on account seniority
• Safety Training Pay: $20 per hour
• Annual pay raises

Job Details

• Deliver groceries in 48- or 53-foot dry van trailers.
• Complete multi-stop deliveries, typically 2 loads per day with 2-3 stops per trailer.
• Deliver to Long Island and all New York City boroughs except Manhattan.
• Expect New York City-area deliveries approximately 3-4 times per week.
• Pick up salvage and return product from designated stops.
• May pick up backhauls to the distribution center or receive a second load, typically in New Jersey.
• Drivers must communicate with dispatch regarding delivery completion, salvage, returns, or delays.
• Consistent freight, 24/7 office staffing, and on-site trailer maintenance support.

• Tuesday-Saturday
• Start time: approximately 10:00 AM
• Typical shift length: 12-14 hours
• Home daily
• Thanksgiving: Off
• Christmas: Off
• New Year's: Off
• Sixth-day work may be available through the additional pay program.

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 6 months of truck driving experience
• Reliable personal transportation to and from work

• DOT Medical card
• Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch
• Ability to work safely, legally, and independently
• Willingness to complete multi-stop deliveries and handle salvage or returns as required
• No riders or pets
