Job summary

BlueLinx is seeking a CDL A Driver to join our team in Springfield, MO. The role offers a fixed wage of $29.25 per hour, with home every night and weekend, and first shift hours. You will operate flatbed and curtain side trailers, with new, safe equipment and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include securing loads (no tarping), timely freight delivery, DOT inspections, and maintaining logs. Must have a valid CDL A, be at least 21, and have 12 months of verifiable tractor trailer

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• 12 months of recent verifiable tractor trailer experience in the past 3 years.
• Safe Driving Record.
• Ability to secure loads.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Properly secure loads. No tarping – only strapping.
• Accurate and timely delivery of freight and handling of customer product returns when required.
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers.
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues.
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections.
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports.
• Direct the unloading by customers, when required.

The fixed rate is $29.25 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations. BlueLinx also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting the first day of the month, 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day, and 8 paid holidays per year.
