Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, seeks a local truck driver for Maryland-based pickup and delivery of cargo, with trailer loading/unloading and forklift use as needed. Shifts vary by location and may include days, nights or weekends. ABF emphasizes safety and efficient operations.

Qualified applicants have a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year tractor/trailer experience (training possible), and a Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements. Union wage scales apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (training possible for less than 1 year).
• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazardous materials endorsements and no automatic restriction.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine paperwork effectively and log loading sheets.
• Exercise independent judgment in building and tearing down trailers while complying with weight distribution laws.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Perform tasks from check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor setup, to pickup and delivery of cargo.
• Other duties as assigned.
