Job summary

Buckhead & Newport Meat and Seafood is seeking drivers to operate daily routes, load and unload products, and assist with palletizing when needed. You will work under the Transportation Department Manager to ensure on-time deliveries and proper documentation.

Responsibilities include hand-truck handling, dock loading, and performing pre-trip inspections in compliance with DOT rules. OT, weekends, and holidays may be required depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL and meet driving record standards.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for communication and reporting.
• Physical ability to lift 40–60 lbs repeatedly and up to 100 lbs.
• Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
• Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times.
• Unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place in designated storage areas.
• Transport pallets and load/unload at docks, ramps, or stairs in all weather conditions.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures; communicate discrepancies to management.
• Call in when a customer does not receive their entire order and handle returns professionally.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
