Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings is seeking a CDL-certified driver to join its Baltimore team. You will operate commercial trucks, perform inspections, and ensure loads are secured and delivered on schedule.

The role emphasizes DOT compliance, accurate documentation, and strong customer service at delivery sites. Ideal candidates have a clean driving record, at least 6 months of verifiable experience in the last year, and are 21 or older.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL and at least 6 months of verifiable experience in the last year.
• Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history.
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years and no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial trucks safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring loads are properly secured.
• Transport goods to assigned destinations within scheduled timeframes.
• Maintain logs of working hours, driving hours, and rest periods (DOT compliance).
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, incidents, or route changes.
• Ensure delivery documentation is completed accurately.
• Follow planned routes while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery sites.
• Keep equipment clean and report any necessary repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate commercial trucks safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
• Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper securing of loads.
• Transport goods to assigned destinations within scheduled timeframes.
• Maintain electronic or paper logs of working hours, driving hours, and rest periods (DOT compliance).
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, incidents, or route changes.
• Ensure accurate completion of delivery documentation (bills of lading, delivery receipts, etc.).
• Follow planned routes while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery sites.
• Keep equipment clean and report any necessary repairs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL
• 6 months of verifiable experience in the last year
• Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Strong time management & communication skills
