Job summary

Sysco Illinois is seeking an experienced tractor-trailer driver to safely transport products from the warehouse to customers in Illinois and beyond, following invoices and company standards. Daytime driving with some night shifts and multi-day trips out of state are common.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading per customer specs, completing logs and inspections, and maintaining food safety standards. A valid Class A CDL and clear communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
• Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school acceptable in lieu of diploma.
• Valid Class A CDL and insurability to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports product from the warehouse to customer locations according to route and delivery specs.
• Completes all required paperwork (logs, inspections, maintenance reports) accurately and timely.
• Maintains food safety standards, proper temperatures, and quality during delivery.
• Communicates route changes or issues to management and customers clearly.
• Operates equipment including tractor-trailer, pallets, and onboard computer properly.
• Maintains regular attendance and supports extra shifts as needed to meet customer needs.
