Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions (CCFS) currently seeks a Class A Linehaul Driver based in Kansas City, KS. This non-exempt role involves transporting freight on the Kansas City to Wichita route, performing DOT-compliant paperwork, and maintaining safety inspections. Home daily with weekends free.

The position requires a valid CDL-A, 21+ years old, and at least one year of commercial driving experience. Hazmat/Tanker endorsements or willingness to obtain them are required, with renewals

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 21 years of age
• 1 year of commercial driving experience
• No DUI's or DWI's (in the past 3 years)
• No more than 3 traffic violations (in past 3 years)
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain - renewals reimbursable

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Hook up and haul trailers between our customer/terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or immediate supervisor
• Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point
• Operate tractor-trailer combination for extended periods of time, over long distances

Job Summary

Physical Demands

• Must be able to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to hook and unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, to manually lower and raise landing gear, to operate fifth wheel release levers, to lock and release pintle-hooks, to attach and release safety chains, to open and close cargo doors, to climb into and out of vehicles, and to fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.
