Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking safety-conscious Class A Linehaul Drivers in Kansas City, KS. This role transfers freight to designated locations, hooks and unhooks trailers, and completes required government and company paperwork. Drivers are home daily with weekends off, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Shifts are Monday–Friday with a 12 am start. Route is Kansas City to Wichita. Compensation includes a flat rate of $361.94 daily plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain (renewals reimbursable).
• Tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain (renewals reimbursable).
• No DUI/DWI in past 3 years.
• No more than 3 traffic violations in past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Hook up and haul trailers between customer/terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or supervisor.
• Ensure shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and accompanies shipment to delivery point.
• Operate tractor-trailer for extended periods over long distances.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Hook up and haul trailers between our customer/terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or immediate supervisor
• Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point
• Operate tractor-trailer combination for extended periods of time, over long distances

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 21 years of age
• 1 year of commercial driving experience
• No DUI’s or DWI’s (in the past 3 years)
• No more than 3 traffic violations (in past 3 years)
• Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain - renewals reimbursable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to hook and unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, to manually lower and raise landing gear, to operate fifth wheel release levers, to lock and release pintle-hooks, to attach and release safety chains, to open and close cargo doors, to climb into and out of vehicles, and to fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.
