Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a Home Daily CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver. Earn $80,000–$85,000 average annual gross pay with a Monday–Friday schedule, daily home time, and additional earnings via safety and exception pay.

Expect 1,175 miles/week with 50/50 drop/hook and live freight, and up to $5,000 sign-on bonus. Trucking includes 100% container/chassis freight, hazmat optional with reimbursement, uniforms provided, and PTO accrual starting day one.

Home Daily CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver – Good Pay + $5K Bonus

Earn $80,000–$85,000 average annual gross pay with daily home time, a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, and additional earning opportunities through safety and exception pay.

Pay Details

• Average Annual Pay: $80,000–$85,000
• Average Weekly Pay: $1,600–$1,700
• $5,000 Bonus
• New hires average $1,403/week during the first 3–6 months
• Safety bonus: up to $1,000/year
• Exception pay for detention, breakdowns, rail delays, empty moves, and more
• Holiday pay after 90 days for 6 major holidays

Job Details

• Local intermodal freight
• Approximately 1,175 miles/week
• 100% container/chassis freight
• Approximately 50% drop/hook and 50% live freight
• Approximately 5% reefer/TCI freight
• Hazmat certification optional; reimbursement available with proof/receipts
• Uniforms provided

Shift Details

• Home Daily
• Monday–Friday
• Start around 9:00 PM
• Approximately 50 hours/week
• 5 × 10-hour days
• Additional hours may occasionally be required
• Extra days available when freight volume allows

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
• Clean driving record
• Valid DOT Medical Card
• No SAP drivers
• Must follow the no-smoking policy inside trucks

Equipment & PTO

• Automatic daycabs, primarily Freightliner
• Fleet averages approximately 2.5 years old
• Slip-seat operation when required
• Tractors parked at the office
• Safety technology equipped
• PTO accrual begins on day one:
  • New hires: 12 days/year
  • 1+ years: 16 days/year
  • 6+ years: 21 days/year
  • 14+ years: 24 days/year
  • 19+ years: 26 days/year
