Responsibilities

• Use hydraulic tools, welding/cutting equipment, electrical tools, and common hand tools as needed.

CDL-A Infrastructure Maintenance Operator/Laborer – Richmond, VA Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Starting Pay: $26/hour; higher pay may be available depending on experience

Position Summary We’re hiring a CDL-A Infrastructure Maintenance Operator/Laborer in Richmond, VA. This hands‑on role focuses on field maintenance, repair, construction support, heavy equipment operation, and physical labor. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, follows safety procedures, and can adapt to changing work assignments and emergency response needs.

Schedule & Compensation

• 40 hours guaranteed per week
• Significant overtime; average workweeks are 60+ hours
• On-call availability 24/7, including weekends and holidays
• Hours outside Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–4 p.m., paid at time-and-a-half
• Additional compensation may include per diem, hotel pay for travel, and layover pay when applicable

• Transport equipment and materials safely to and from job sites
• Load, unload, stage, and position equipment and materials for field assignments

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders, cranes, grapple trucks, and dump trucks when qualified

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL with a good driving record. Experience in construction labor, maintenance, or another physically demanding role. Ability to perform outdoor fieldwork and operate heavy equipment when qualified. Willingness to complete required qualification tests and safety training. Availability for emergency callouts 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with infrastructure maintenance, construction, or related field operations. Three or more years of heavy equipment operating experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience operating excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, front-end loaders, grapple trucks, tractors, or skid-steers.
