Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Maintainer to perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair and upkeep of roads, bridges and other related structures and features.

The role requires a Class A CDL with X or N endorsements and no airbrake restrictions, plus at least one year of driving experience. The position is in Rock Island County, Silvis Team and is office-based with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four years of high school.
• Must possess a Class A CDL with X or N endorsements and no airbrake restrictions.
• One year of driving experience immediately preceding appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL Class A licensed vehicles for road maintenance.
• Perform labor relating to maintenance of roadways.
• During snow and ice conditions, assist in snow and ice control.
• Maintain on-the-job records and reports.
• Adhere to safety protocols and DOT regulations.
