Job summary

Illinois Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Maintainer for Vermillion County, Danville Team. You will operate CDL Class A vehicles and perform roadway maintenance duties, including snow/ice control and routine site upkeep.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule with in-office presence 1–5 days per week. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and a valid Class A CDL (N/X endorsements, no airbrake restrictions) plus one year of driving experience.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and a Class A CDL with N or X endorsements and no airbrake restriction.
• One year of driving experience immediately preceding appointment, with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to perform arduous outdoor labor and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL Class A licensed vehicles.
• Perform roadways maintenance and related labor tasks.
• Assist in snow and ice control during winter conditions.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties at headquarters and manage on-the-job records.
