Job summary

Qualdoc seeks a Class A CDL driver with heavy equipment experience to support emergency field operations and infrastructure work. You will transport equipment, operate cranes and excavators, and assist with recovery and repair projects. Expect heavy overtime and a demanding schedule, with 24/7 availability for emergencies.

Typical week exceeds 60 hours, with some weeks reaching 70. Shifts outside daytime hours pay premium; per diem, hotel, and layover pay apply. Full-time benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL‑A with a clean driving record.
• Experience in construction, equipment operation, or similar physically demanding roles.
• Willingness to perform manual labor around heavy machinery.
• Willingness to complete required safety training and assessments.
• Availability for 24/7 emergency callouts, including nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Drive tractor-trailers to and from job sites and inspect loads.
• Verify permits for oversized/overweight loads.
• Coordinate safety briefings and plan field work with crews.
• Load, unload, stage, secure, and transport equipment and materials.
• Assist with operating cranes, excavators and other heavy machinery.
• Support emergency recovery projects with rigging equipment and winches.
• Operate various heavy equipment as qualified.
• Assist with lifting, material transfers, and infrastructure repair.
• Use hydraulic tools and cutting torches as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document repairs.
• Prepare machinery for transport and restock parts.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Follow safety procedures and assist other teams as needed.
• Complete safety training during downtime.
