Job summary

Qualdoc in Candor, NC seeks a CDL-A Excavator & Heavy Equipment Operator to support field operations and recovery tasks. You will handle excavators and other machinery, prepare equipment, and coordinate with field crews under safety guidelines.

This hands-on role offers full-time direct-hire employment with travel compensation and significant overtime opportunities. You should be ready for on-call duties, weekend work, and responding to urgent assignments while maintaining equipment

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required with a clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience operating excavators or heavy equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime and respond to urgent field needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to support field assignments.
• Transport machinery, tools, and materials using a tractor-trailer.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections before and after trips.
• Check load security and verify permits for overweight/oversized loads.
• Assist with equipment positioning, lifting operations, and field recovery activities.
• Connect and inspect chains, cables, and winches; assist with rigging as trained.
• Use hydraulic equipment, hand tools, welding and cutting tools as needed.
• Complete basic equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues.
• Participate in safety briefings and follow operating procedures.
• Assist with loading, unloading, cleanup, and restocking equipment and supplies.
• Support other field teams as needs change.
