Cheney Brothers, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A delivery driver for a day shift in Fletcher, NC. You will drive tractor-trailer or straight truck locally and over-the-road, delivering food and related products to customers on schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 12+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A license.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or can secure DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and use equipment to move freight up to 90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Communicates professionally with customers, vendors and co-workers.
• Functions as a team member and performs duties to best serve the company.
• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) and DOT inspections; ensures safety standards.
• Reports safety issues and required repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Reports hazards and ensures proper trailer loading and securing of freight.
• Checks invoices and completes required freight paperwork.
• Delivers customer orders on the scheduled route; unloads and stores items.
• Returns paperwork, collisions records, and ensures secure equipment.
