Job summary

Cheney Brothers is hiring a CDL-A Delivery Driver to support the food distribution network. You will drive tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring timely delivery and safe handling of products.

The role requires 12+ months driving experience, a valid CDL-A, and adherence to DOT regulations. Benefits include Health & Wellness, 401K matching, stock purchase, and education assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• 12+ months commercial driving experience required.
• Valid CDL-A license required.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move freight.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally.
• Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required.
• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections per DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and/or repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
• Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for secured freight.
• Performs counts and checks on invoices and freight.
• Handles loading/unloading and routes delivery according to schedule.
• Verifies delivery with customer and obtains signatures.
• Maintains daily hours of service records as required by DOT and company.
