Job summary

Cochise County is seeking an Equipment Operator / Truck Driver for the Western Regional Landfill in Whetstone. This role requires operating a variety of heavy equipment under general supervision and performing related duties, including routine maintenance and reporting on projects.

Minimum qualifications include one year of equipment operation experience and a valid Arizona Class A CDL (or ability to obtain within five months).

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating equipment in construction or a related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Class A CDL (or obtain within 5 months).
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment and large vehicles.
• Maintain and perform routine maintenance on roadways, rights-of-way, and flood control structures.
• Prepare reports and perform on-site projects (cutting slopes, reading blueprints, surveying).
• Supervise a small crew of operators and laborers.
• Work under general supervision and follow safety procedures.
