Job summary

Gila County Community College is seeking a capable maintenance worker to perform semi-skilled road construction and related duties within the Roads or Recycling & Landfill divisions. The role involves operating a range of heavy equipment, ensuring safety practices, and contributing to landfill operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, with progression toward an Arizona Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years road construction and equipment experience.
• Two years' experience in road construction/landfill operations or equivalent education.
• Must possess valid Driver's License and CDL within 9 months; Class A CDL required.
• Ability to perform semi-skilled road construction and operate heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate road construction and maintenance equipment according to safety procedures.
• Grade roads, pave, repair asphalt, and maintain drainage and ditches.
• Coordinate inmate work detail and perform manual labor as needed.
• Provide emergency road services and assist landfill customers with loading refuse.
