Job summary

American Driver LLC in the Capital Region is hiring CDL Class A drivers for grocery store deliveries with no-touch freight and predictable schedules. Just finished CDL school? This account trains new drivers, with orientation and two days of onboarding before you go solo.

Live within 200 miles and you are home weekly for your 34 hour reset, with the truck staying with you. Typical pay includes a weekly gross around $1,500, $10 per first stop and $15 per additional stop, plus $15 extra for short

Qualifications

• Class A CDL, 21 or older.
• 120 hour CDL school certificate, or 6 months of recent experience.
• No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years, no DUI/DWI in 10.
• Pass DOT physical and drug screening (hair and urine).

Your paycheck

• $1,500 average weekly gross
• About 2,000 miles a week
• $10 for the first stop, $15 for each stop after
• $15 extra on short runs
• $850 a week while you train

How the schedule works

• 5 day or 6 day work weeks, or longer stretches with home time set in advance
• Live within 200 miles and you are home weekly for your 34 hour reset, and you can take the truck home
• Day and night shifts are open
• Weekends, holidays and winter driving are part of the job

Questions new drivers ask

• "Do I unload the trailer?" No. This is no touch freight.
• "Am I home every night in training?" No. You ride with your mentor while you train. The schedule above starts when you go solo.
• "Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.

Getting started

A recruiter checks your license and record with you first. Orientation is 2 days at most, with your hotel covered, your bus ticket reimbursed and $300 once you are hired. Then 4 to 6 weeks with a trainer, and the truck is yours.
