Job summary

American Driver LLC in Riverview, FL is seeking new CDL graduates to drive eastern regional lanes. You’ll be home every two weeks and begin with a mentor, gaining hands-on experience on early assignments.

During training you’ll earn about $1,000 per week, roughly $1,200 per week once solo, plus mileage pay starting at $0.55 per mile and rising to $0.65, with about 2,500 miles weekly and $15 stop pay. Orientation is included with paid travel.

Loads stay in the eastern states, so you are not chasing freight across the country. New grads train with a mentor first.

What you earn

Your week

Eastern regional lanes, drop and hook, live loads and preloads. Out about two weeks, then home.

From CDL school to your own truck

1. A recruiter calls you and reviews your CDL and driving record with you.
2. Orientation, 2 days at most. Hotel paid, one-way bus ticket reimbursed, $300 for orientation once hired.


3. 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor: backing, trip planning, logs and fueling. You are paid every week.


4. Your own assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average, automatic or 10-speed. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.

What you need

• Class A CDL from your state of residence, 21 or older

• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years


• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years


• DOT physical and hair and urine drug screen
