Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is hiring Transportation/Linehaul Drivers. Earn start pay at 0.84/mile with an average weekly pay around $2,300, reflecting stable growth and strong work-life balance.

You will transport freight between Service Centers, perform inspections, and maintain equipment while upholding safety standards and professional conduct. Full-time benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload freight between Service Centers safely.
• Perform pre-and post-trip inspections on tractor/trailer.
• Affix placards when required and maintain clean vehicle.
• Interact with internal customers and follow procedures.
• Operate forklift for unloading/loading when indicated.
• Be available for irregular schedules and long trips away from home.
• Adhere to operational procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Transportation Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers.

• Perform pre and post trip inspections on tractor/trailer
• Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
• Interact and converse with internal customers
• Safely operate a forklift to unload/ load products when indicated and needed
• Be available for irregular work schedules, extended trips away from domiciled Service Center, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
• Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines

Qualifications

• At least 23 years of age
• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card
• No DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operations in the past 3 years
• Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Basic math skills
• Fluent in English
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Able to pass a drug screen

Physical Demands

The position requires the ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and perform routine physical tasks associated with driving and equipment inspections.
